Spot the Elephant!
I spotted myself a couple of elephants when browsing Anthropologie's catalog this morning. I love the bright color and fun theme of this comforter.

We so excited! (and by we I mean me)
I am so excited about this movie! I read the book a few years ago, and it has to be one of my favorites ever. Here's a little circus inspired montage in honor of the release of the movie.

I don't know what I love more!
Smith's Lip Balm
Oh it is so much more than lip balm... Have you ever used this stuff? Of course it is great on lips, but is also good on cuticles, dry elbows and most recently discovered... fly aways. I had to go to the DMV a few weeks ago to get a new license. I was in such a rush! I had forgotten about my 8:40 am appointment and accidentally driven to work instead of the DMV office. I realized I was not where I was supposed to be as I was walking up to the office. Ek-tastic! I frantically drove back home, picked up my paperwork and got to the ol' DMV with five minutes to spare. I was feelin pretty good till the guy behind the counter told me I would be taking a new picture. What, replace the picture of my 15 year old self?? Well, my hair was looking particularly spastic on this lovely day, bobby pinned and braided and whatnot. I quickly headed to the bathroom mirror and fixed my self up with some Smith's... Fingers crossed it the new pic turns out ok!!

Speaking of Beautiful Paper...
While paroosing the folders on my computer I found an old word document which I saved back in the day with images and directions of how to make these awesome paper flowers. Wouldn't they be a fun Spring party decoration?
And now for the big How-To!
You can use gusseted bags of any size for the hanging flowers; each flower is made from six bags.
1. Fold the bottom of a bag in on itself. Cut above the lower fold, removing the bag's bottom. Trim the top into a petal shape.
2. Punch a hole about 1/4 inch from the bottom. Repeat process with five more bags. Apply double-sided tape to the front edges of a bag. Place another bag on top, and repeat to stack all of the bags. Draw a length of string through the hole in the stack; knot it loosely.
3. Pull the top and bottom bags around to form a flower shape.
4. Join the end petals with double-sided tape. Suspend by string.
I beleive the images and text are from Martha Stewart.
Beautiful Paper Typography
Typography is definitely something that makes my heart swoon a bit. I love the way this artist has truly made it into something beautiful that conveys an emotion.
